As experts in nanohydrogels for the controlled release of drugs and active substances, studying gelation behaviour is vital for our products and technologies. In this article in collaboration with the LABQUIMAC team from the UPV EHU we successfully analysed the conjugations of cytosan (CHI) and hyaluronic acid (HA) with catechol (CA) groups by using 1H-NMR spectroscopy.
The spontaneous gelation of HA-CA and CHI-CA allows to obtain highly cross-linked systems without the need of additional reactions or reagents and in the case of HA-CA excellent filmogenic properties and higher tissue adhesion capacity are shown.
