VIRGINIA SÁEZ
Scientific Coordinator
Virginia and her team are investigating the wide-ranging possibilities of nanohydrogels – materials capable of responding to different stimuli, enabling the controlled release of drugs and therapies in a precise and adaptive manner. She is responsible for coordinating and aligning scientific activities with our external collaborators and various multidisciplinary teams. Her work helps to transform scientific knowledge into increasingly precise solutions, within a cooperative that already holds 14 technology patents.
JOSÉ MARÍA ALONSO
R&D Researcher
Txema is an expert in research into hydrogel coatings, injectable systems and the functionalisation of biomaterials. He also manages intellectual property to ensure the commercialisation and exploitation of i+Med’s technological developments. This expertise is also reflected in i+Med’s ability to protect and transfer its knowledge, with 14 patents linked to its technological developments, which form a significant part of its capacity to take research from the laboratory into new applications and solutions
RAÚL PÉREZ
Scientific Director
Raúl is an expert in nanogels and the development of advanced drug delivery systems, with a strong track record in biomaterials, nanotechnology and biomedical applications. As Scientific Director, he leads the R&D strategy for i+Med’s team of over 100 researchers, identifying new technological opportunities and guiding research from the conceptual stage through to clinical and industrial application.
SANDRA BENITO
Laboratory Manager
Sandra is responsible for coordinating and supervising the laboratory’s technical and operational activities, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards and applicable regulations. Her duties include managing human and material resources and overseeing R&D projects, whilst ensuring the continuous improvement of processes and the fulfilment of the company’s scientific, technical and strategic objectives.
